| Biography | Jürgen Wiesner In the project "Carabidae of the world" - scientific material manager of Cicindelidae, photos, library. I was born on 19. February 1953, only child of Kurt and Ursula Wiesner in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. I went to primary school from 1958 to 1962 and than to secondary school from 1962 to 1969. From 1969 to 1973 I absolved education as an laboratory technician at Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg and worked there as a specialist for rubber material until 1993. From 1993 up to 2005 I was responsible for standardization of material, from 2005 on I am managin standardization of Volkswagen factory. I am married to Ingrid Wiesner, we have no child. My entomological experiences are as follows: I started working on Alticinae, Chrysomelidae in 1969 in secondary school, but later was introduced and instructed in Cicindelidae by Prof. Dr. Karl Mandl from 1973 to 1977. Up to now I published 116 scientific papers, 106 of dealing with tiger beetles. Within these studies I visited and studied the fauna of Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Danmark, Norway, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, the Emirates, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Rйunion, Mauritius, Sumatra, New Zealand and New Caledonia.<br /> Contact: e-mail: juergen.wiesner(at)wolfsburg.de |
