About the project
Mission statement: Our goal is to promote biodiversity awareness, disseminate information, and provide researchers, students, museums, and any interested parties with up-to-date taxonomic and faunal information on the ground beetles (Carabidae) of the world. This includes checklists reflecting latest advances in taxonomy, images, literature, and distribution maps. We intend to provide images of as many species as possible in both adult and, wherever available, immature stages and type specimens.
The idea to set up such a source goes back to 2005 as a part of entomological site Paganel-net, created by Alexandre Anichtchenko
